Use a last-minute race gear checklist on your Garmin
The training is done. The avoidable failure is leaving shoes, timing chip, helmet or nutrition at home. Put the final check where it remains visible while you pack.
Separate planning from the departure check
A complete race plan belongs in the organizer's instructions and your own notes. The watch list has a narrower job: confirm the small set of items that must leave with you. Keeping that list short makes it more likely you will actually finish it.
Race Ready Pack includes concise lists for Run Race, Ride Day, Triathlon and Court Day. Critical items stay visible when unchecked, and each sport keeps independent progress.
A practical two-pass routine
- Open the right sport list while laying out equipment the night before.
- Tick an item only when it is packed or positioned by the door.
- Run the same list once more before leaving.
- Reset that sport after the event; other lists keep their own state.
The app saves locally after closing, so a nearly completed checklist survives an interruption. Buttons, touch and swipe are supported, and clearing every sport requires a deliberate separate action.
Why a watch list can beat a phone note
A phone checklist is flexible, but it also disappears behind messages, tickets and maps during a busy departure. The watch is already on your wrist, works offline and exposes only the immediate task. Use the phone or paper for the full plan; use the watch for the final gate.
