Build and start a routine
Choose a routine on the watch, then press START to freeze its snapshot. In Connect IQ Mobile, the editable routine can contain up to eight ordered exercises with a name, first movement, four-phase tempo, reps, sets and rest. A setup countdown and session load, unit and RPE are optional. Changes made after START do not change the active session.
Run, correct and recover
Follow the visible lowering, holds and lifting phases. Use pause/resume when interrupted and skip rest when ready. MENU offers repeat or undo for the last rep or set, and an early finish creates an honest partial receipt. If the app is interrupted, recovery restores only known remaining time; it never silently credits hidden time.
Understand TUT
Planned and completed TUT count the prescribed timer phases. Rest and paused time are excluded. TUT is not movement sensing: Lift Tempo Coach does not automatically detect reps or motion, judge form, diagnose health or prescribe training.
Local history and optional FIT
Receipts and routine trends stay in the app’s local Garmin storage. Optional native Strength FIT recording is independent of the receipt: a failed FIT action does not discard local results. A successful Save only means the FIT file was saved on the watch; it does not confirm synchronization to a phone or Garmin Connect.
Troubleshooting
- Tempo feels wrong: check each exercise’s first movement and four phase values before START.
- Unexpected TUT: paused and rest seconds are deliberately excluded; recovery never invents unobserved time.
- No FIT result: keep the local receipt, then retry or discard recording from its on-watch controls.
- Need to change a routine: edit it in Connect IQ Mobile, then start a new session so the next snapshot contains the change.
